Item list Overview

Logistician 55's default view is the aggregated item list, which provides a consolidated view of all of the unfulfilled line items from your open orders. It can be used as a global pick list or manufacturing queue, and allows you to mark picked or prepared items as "prepared" to assist in order preparation and help coordinate fulfillment.

When there are open orders, the item view should look similar to the screenshot below:

Each line item will be displayed with its full title (the product name plus the variant name), and the product name will be separated from the variant name by a dash. Below the product name, will be the SKU, vendor name, and a mention of how many orders need the item. 

Products with multiple variants will have an individual entry in the list for each variant, instead of being grouped together. This will occur even if the SKUs are the same.
To the right of the item information (or below it on mobile), there will be some badges, each with a different color, that display the following information:
  • In Stock: the number of unsold inventory in stock
  • Committed: the quantity of items that have been committed to open orders
  • Needed: the quantity of items needed to fulfill selected orders
  • Prepared: the quantity of items that have been marked as prepared

The "needed" quantity will usually match the "committed" quantity, except when generating a pick list for specific orders, in which case it will reflect the quantity needed to fulfill the selected orders.

If an item is backordered (such as when an item is pre-ordered or sold without inventory), the "in stock" badge will change color and be labeled "Oversold" instead of "In Stock". The oversold badge will then display the number of items that are on backorder.

Viewing item details and setting prepared quantities

Clicking on any item in the list will expand the detail view to provide a breakdown of quantity by each order, with the following information listed:
  • Order ID
  • Order Date
  • Quantity Required
  • Quantity Prepared

Clicking on the order number will take you to that order in Shopify's admin panel. 

Logistician 55 allows you to set a "prepared" quantity for items so that you can keep track of your progress during manufacturing or order picking, and also determine which orders are ready for fulfillment based on the prepared quantities. To set a prepared quantity, simply enter the number of units that are available, and then click the "save" button.

Please note that it may take some time for the new quantities to appear when reloading the page or switching lists. If statuses on the order list do not seem to change after updating the prepared quantities, or the prepared quantities do not appear to have been updated, simply wait a few moments and refresh the list once the new information becomes available.

You may toggle the display of details for all items at once by clicking the "Show Details" button in the main menu bar:

Sorting

By default, the line item list will be sorted by product name in ascending order (A-Z). It is possible to re-sort this list if needed. The following options are available for sorting:
  • Name
  • Quantity Needed
  • Order Volume (how many orders need the item)
  • Preparation State
  • SKU
  • Vendor

Filtering

The item list can also be filtered to narrow the display of items. This can be particularly useful if you have many open orders or unfulfilled items. The following options are currently available for filtering:
  • Product
  • SKU
  • Preparation State
  • Vendor

It is possible to select multiple values from a given filter category to expand your results. For example, you can filter for multiple products or SKUs.

You may also "stack" filters to narrow your results even further. For example, when searching for specific products or SKUs, you can also filter by preparation state to show only items that are unprepared. 

Please note that some filters cannot be combined (such as SKUs and Products).

If your store utilizes a "local delivery" app, there is a chance that you will be also able to sort and filter by the delivery and/or pickup dates, depending on the app being used. If you are using a local delivery/pickup app and do not see these options, drop us a line and we will see if we can add compatibility for your setup.
